Small housing is what we do.
REVU MFG builds tiny homes on wheels, homes on foundations, ADUs, cottages, and workforce housing, all of it in our own shop in Coloma, Michigan.
Every one is designed to outlast and outperform, whether as a full-time home, a rental, workforce housing, or a guest house out on the lake. We build to the rental standard because it’s the hardest one to meet: constant turnover, heavy use, and every shortcut eventually shows.
Why we build indoors.
Everything is built in our shop in Coloma, Michigan. No weather delays, no materials sitting in the rain, no waiting on a dry week. It keeps costs down and build times short, and it gives us an edge over traditional builders doing everything on site.
Built by people who have owned the buildings.
That rental standard didn’t come out of a catalog. Behind REVU is our team, with decades of construction and real estate experience: more than 2,000 apartments and homes rehabbed, more than 500 rental units under management at any given time, and 54 units owned. That means taking the maintenance calls, paying the repair bills, and learning firsthand which materials hold up.
The point of all of it.
Home prices and construction costs are at an all-time high. Our approach is straightforward. We put top-quality materials, decades of hands-on construction, and real experience with every aspect of rental housing toward homes built to last with minimal upkeep.
We’re here to make quality housing available to everyone.
I’ve been on job sites since I was five.
My dad worked on apartment buildings on Chicago’s South Side, and I was there with him, first handing him tools, then doing the work. We owned the buildings, and we did all of it ourselves: the construction, the repairs, the management. By eight I was in woodshop, making holiday pieces I sold to family, friends, and at school events. By ten I was working full gut rehabs. At fifteen I began learning the management and bookkeeping sides of the business. At eighteen, while in college, I started my own construction company.
Then I learned the other half of the business.
At twenty-five I bought my first multifamily property, got my real estate license, and opened a full-service brokerage focused on South Side apartment buildings, handling management, maintenance, consulting, debt placement, brokerage, and receivership. I’ve rehabbed more than 2,000 apartments and homes, managed more than 500 rental units at any given time, and owned 54 units of my own: 52 apartments across two buildings, since sold, plus two single-family homes I still own today.
That side of it is what most builders never see. When you own the building, manage it, and take the maintenance call yourself, you learn quickly which materials hold up, which shortcuts come back in year three, and what a home actually costs to keep, not to sell.
That’s a different education than a construction career alone. A short-term rental takes a new occupant every few nights, none of whom own the consequences of how they treat the place, and it fails in a predictable order. Flooring goes first. Then cabinetry and hardware. Then plumbing fixtures. Every one of those is a place a builder can save money at handoff and hand the cost back to you a season later. We spec them high and build them that way.
Michigan, and a contractor problem.
I moved to Michigan in 2018 and couldn’t find contractors to do the work on my own projects. So I started Novo Development Company and did it myself. One job led to another, and we became the crew handling Lowe’s cabinet installations across southwest Michigan.
The tiny home that started REVU.
A few years in, a friend asked me to look at a brand-new tiny home he had just bought. I was shocked. Cheap materials, poor build quality, nothing close to what he paid for. I told him I could build a much better home for very little more than he spent.
That was the beginning of REVU MFG. I spent the next few years proving out the design, testing materials and processes in real-world conditions rather than on paper. That work became our first model: a modern tiny home on wheels.
